Round 9
ANOTHER
coach can breath a little easier this week after Rod Lester-Smith registered
his first win of the season against an undermanned Peel last week.
Rod earns
coach-of-the-week honours for getting the Sharks over the line for his first
victory as a league coach.
The
Thunder have become the easy beats of the competition. Let’s hope they can
register a win this week against Perth down at Rushton Park.
West
Perth sent Subiaco thundering back to earth when they defeated the Lions last
week. Subiaco continue to struggle against the Falcons. The Lions trailed for
most of the match and when the Falcons stepped a gear in the last quarter, they
could not go with them.
South
Fremantle should be back in the winners’ circle when they play Claremont in
Round 10 and Swan Districts gets its chance for a second consecutive victory
when it meets East Fremantle at Bassendean for the first time this season.
The
Bullogs put up a fight before being beaten by the Royals last week. The Royals
were guided by defender Luke Webster and full forward Troy Wilson, who have
both been named in this week’s team.
Adam Lange
made an impression in his first game in the WAFL (and for Swan Districts) since
returning from the Kangaroos – and as a result made the team-of-the-week in his
first outing.
