Round 7
BIG scores
last weekend made it very competitive for a position in the Team-of-the-Week.
Our
talented forward line players booted 29 goals between them, led by last year’s
East Perth fairest and best winner Paul Ridley who snared his first bag of
eight goals for the season. The Royals would be hoping he continues his good
form. They meet the dangerous Swan Districts at home, South Fremantle and
Subiaco in their next three games.
Subiaco
was impressive last week against the Bulldogs and earned Peter German
coach-of-the-week honours. Their intensity and work rate around the ground was
impressive and the skills very good, but the Royals still remain the bench mark
of the competition.
This
years State game between Western Australia and South Australia is only six
weeks away and at this stage the majority of players will come from our top
four sides.
It would
be difficult to see many players coming from East Fremantle, Perth or Peel if
we pick players that are playing good, consistent football.
Let’s
hope the Sharks used the bye to their advantage last week as they get a chance
to register their first win playing Perth this week.
