Round 5

Are Subiaco the real deal this year? They seem to have a good balance of tall and small players and a strong leading key target in Brad Smith who is averaging 4.5 goals per game and again he spearheads the Team-of-the-Week. The Lions will be fully tested in the next four weeks when they play Swan Districts, South Fremantle, West Perth and East Perth.

Things did not improve for our three cellar dwellers in East Fremantle, Perth and Peel Thunder with only percentage separating the sides. The Sharks get their chance for a win against Claremont on their home ground this Saturday -- and then there were two!

Subiaco’s Peter German earned coach-of-the-week honours after his new side defeated his old side Peel when it had 45 shots at goal -- 18.27 (135) to Peel’s 20 shots, 9.11 (65).
