Round 4

IS the season starting to slip away for East Fremantle, Perth and Peel Thunder?

They already hold the last three places on the WAFL premiership ladder and are three wins away from a finals position. It is important to a coach to win early games in the season so if anything goes off the rails you have something to fall back on. If you don’t have any games in the bank you are under pressure the whole way through the season.

Rookie coaches Rod Lester-Smith and John Ditchburn must be pondering when it will be their turn to step up on to the podium and register a win and I am sure the State coach Stan Magro would like a win next to his name soon.

East Perth’s thumping win over Claremont earns Andy Lovell coach-of-the-week honours. The win was even sweeter for Lovell when it was against old teammate and coaching partner Guy McKenna.
