Round 18

SUBIACO finally removed the monkey from its back when it defeated West Perth last week.

With the finals fast approaching, the players would have gained enormous confidence from the win. Subiaco has defeated every other team in the competition this year except East Perth. This Sunday is judgement day when the Lions take on last year’s premiers.

Peter German earns Coach-of-the-week honours.

Can Peel Thunder win a game before the end of the season? If they are to attract quality players to the club next year you would like to see some light at the end of the tunnel. The young players in the region are definitely the future of the club, but not all can get permits to play league football. Expect plenty of new faces around the club next year.

With several injuries to key players in the top four teams, the bye may not be such a bad thing after all. A weekend off at this time of year could recharge the body and the mind.
