Round 5 BEROS IN CLEAR
LEAD
SWAN Districts
midfielder Shane Beros has taken a clear lead in the voting for the Football
Budget’s prestigious Player-of-the-Year Award.
Beros’ hard
in-and-under approach has been in display in the early rounds of the season and
was one of the reasons the Swans got close to upsetting
South Fremantle
last weekend. Bulldog Andrew Siegert was another big mover after picking up the
top votes in that game.
The voting system
for this award is the same as last season, with football journalists voting on
a 3-2-1
basis for each game.
The winner of the
award will be deemed the fairest and best player, with any player who has been
suspended by the tribunal during the season ineligible for the award. The
winner will receive a generous prize.
The presentation
of the award will be conducted at an end of season function hosted by Football
Budget publisher Wright Media.
