Round 22 LAST ROUND
IMPORTANT
THE performances
of players in this week’s final round of the home-and-away season will have a
big bearing on the outcome of the Kennards Hire Footballer-of-the-Year Award.
Voting for the
award has been in camera since the end of Round 19 when
East Perth
midfielder Brent Cowell held a five-vote lead ahead of Swan Districts’ Shane
Beros.
The voting in the
past few weeks has been telling, but is this week’s games that will tell the
tale of a season that has produced some wonderful individual performances.
The voting system
for this award is the same as last season, with football journalists voting on
a 3-2-1 basis for each game.
The winner of the
award will be deemed the fairest and best player, with any player who has been
suspended by the tribunal during the season ineligible for the award. The
winner will receive a generous prize.
Presentation of
the award will be conducted at an end of season function hosted by Football
Budget publisher Wright Media on Tuesday, September 16.
