Round 17 COWELL IN CHARGE
BRENT Cowell has
taken a commanding seven vote lead at the top of the players vying for the
Kennards Hire Footballer of the Year Award.
Cowell earned a
maximum three votes against Swan Districts last weekend while none of his
nearest rivals could poll a vote.
Troy Longmuirs
push for a Fremantle Dockers recall was further boosted when he grabbed maximum
votes while fellow AFL listed players Brent Staker and Trent Croad picked up
the three votes in their games.
The voting system
for this award is the same as last season, with football journalists voting on
a 3-2-1
basis for each game.
The winner of the
award will be deemed the fairest and best player, with any player who has been
suspended by the tribunal during the season ineligible for the award. The
winner will receive a generous prize.
The presentation
of the award will be conducted at an end of season function hosted by Football
Budget publisher Wright Media.
